Racing Payouts & Maximum Bet Amounts
There are no house odds. If there are no track payoffs for a certain type of wager, all wagers on that type will be refunded. There is a maximum net profit on each individual race based on the track category. Daily Doubles, Pick 3's, and Pick 4's count towards the last race in its sequence when calculating the race profit. The formula is Net Profit = Net Payout For Race minus Total Amount Wagered For Race. This resets for every individual race. If a track is on our betting menu, but not listed on the Horse Track Categories, the Maximum Net Profit defaults to $3,000.

Bet Types
SportsBettingOnline.ag accepts many wager types for horse racing including Straight wagers (Win, Place, Show), Across the Board, and exotic wagers (Exacta, Quinella, Daily Double, Trifecta, Superfecta, Parlays, Pick 3's, Pick 4's, and Pick 6's). Betting limits depend on the track category where the race is held. Exotic wagers generally have lower maximum limits than straight wagers due to higher track payout risks.
| Wager Category | Types Offered | Minimum Bet | Maximum Bet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straight Wagers | Win, Place, Show | $1.00 | Up to $1,500 |
| Exotic Wagers | Exacta, Quinella, Daily Double, Parlays | $1.00 | Up to $500 |
| Super Exotics | Trifecta, Superfecta, Pick 3/4/6 | $1.00 | Up to $50 |
Win/Place/Show
Straight wagers are the simplest bets in horse racing: • Win: Your horse must finish 1st. • Place: Your horse must finish 1st or 2nd. • Show: Your horse must finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Straight wagers pay full track odds at all major tracks, subject to the track limits shown under the Payouts & Maximum Bet Amounts tab. These limits represent the maximum dollar amount accepted for a single straight wager online.
| Bet Type | Winning Condition | Payout Source | Max Online Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Win | Horse finishes 1st | Official Track Win Pool | $1,500 (Class A Tracks) |
| Place | Horse finishes 1st or 2nd | Official Track Place Pool | $1,500 (Class A Tracks) |
| Show | Horse finishes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd | Official Track Show Pool | $1,500 (Class A Tracks) |
Across the Board
An 'Across the Board' (A.T.B.) wager is a combination of three wagers on a single horse: one Win bet, one Place bet, and one Show bet. • If your horse wins, you collect on the Win, Place, and Show bets. • If your horse finishes second, you collect on the Place and Show bets. • If your horse finishes third, you collect on the Show bet only. Because an Across the Board bet is actually three separate wagers, a $5 Across the Board bet will cost a total of $15.
| Horse Placement | Win Payout | Place Payout | Show Payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st Place | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 2nd Place | No | Yes | Yes |
| 3rd Place | No | No | Yes |
| 4th or Worse | No | No | No |
Exacta/Perfecta
An Exacta (also known as Perfecta at some tracks) requires you to select the first and second-place finishers in a single race in their exact order. • Exacta Straight: You select horse A to win and horse B to finish second. They must finish A-B for you to win. • Exacta Box: You select two or more horses. You win if any of your horses finish first and second in any combination. A two-horse Exacta Box contains two bets (A-B and B-A).
| Exacta Bet Type | Horses Selected | Combinations | Cost multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straight Exacta | 2 Horses (Specific Order) | 1 | 1x Base Stake |
| Exacta Box (2) | 2 Horses (Any Order) | 2 | 2x Base Stake |
| Exacta Box (3) | 3 Horses (Any Order) | 6 | 6x Base Stake |
| Exacta Box (4) | 4 Horses (Any Order) | 12 | 12x Base Stake |
Quinella
A Quinella requires you to select the first two finishers of a race in either order. As long as your two selected horses finish in the top two positions, you win. Unlike an Exacta Box, which consists of two separate wagers, a Quinella is a single wager and is subject to the track's official Quinella pool. If the track does not offer a Quinella pool for a race, Quinella wagers on that race will be refunded.
| Quinella Wager | Order of Finish | Required Selections | Payout Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Quinella | Any order (e.g., A-B or B-A) | Top 2 finishers | Track Quinella Pool |
| Quinella Box (3) | Any order among 3 horses | Top 2 finishers among selection | Track Quinella Pool |
Daily Double
The Daily Double requires you to select the winning horses of two consecutive races (typically the first two or last two races of the day). Both selections must win for you to collect a payout. Daily Double wagers count towards the last race in its sequence when calculating the race profit limits. Payouts are determined by the track's official Daily Double pool.
| Exotic Type | Races Covered | Winning Criteria | Limit Calculation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily Double | 2 Consecutive Races | Both selections must win | Based on last race in sequence |
Trifecta Triple
A Trifecta requires you to select the first, second, and third-place finishers of a single race in their exact order. • Trifecta Straight: You choose horses A, B, and C to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. They must finish exactly in that order. • Trifecta Box: You select three or more horses. If any of your selected horses finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, you win. A three-horse Trifecta Box contains 6 different combinations.
| Trifecta Type | Horses Selected | Combinations | Cost multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Straight Trifecta | 3 Horses (Specific Order) | 1 | 1x Base Stake |
| Trifecta Box (3) | 3 Horses (Any Order) | 6 | 6x Base Stake |
| Trifecta Box (4) | 4 Horses (Any Order) | 24 | 24x Base Stake |
| Trifecta Box (5) | 5 Horses (Any Order) | 60 | 60x Base Stake |
Parlay
Horse racing Parlays allow you to link multiple Win, Place, or Show selections together across different races. The winnings from the first race are automatically re-wagered onto the next race. All selections in the parlay must be successful for the bet to win. Parlays offer significantly higher potential payouts, but carry higher risk. Maximum parlay limits are capped according to our track limit policy.
| Parlay Selection Type | Minimum Legs | Maximum Legs | Max Payout Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Win/Place/Show | 2 Races | 15 Races | $500 (Class A Tracks) |
Pick Three
A Pick 3 requires you to select the winning horses of three consecutive races. All three selections must win for the wager to be successful. Pick 3 wagers count towards the last race in the sequence when calculating the race profit limits. Payouts are based on the official track pools and are subject to track category limits.
| Exotic Type | Races Covered | Winning Criteria | Limit Calculation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pick 3 | 3 Consecutive Races | All 3 selections must win | Based on last race in sequence |
Pick Four
A Pick 4 requires you to select the winning horses of four consecutive races. All four selections must win for the wager to be successful. Pick 4 wagers count towards the last race in the sequence when calculating the race profit limits. Like other Pick bets, the maximum payouts are subject to track category limitations.
| Exotic Type | Races Covered | Winning Criteria | Limit Calculation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pick 4 | 4 Consecutive Races | All 4 selections must win | Based on last race in sequence |
Superfecta
A Superfecta requires you to select the first, second, third, and fourth-place finishers of a single race in their exact order. • Superfecta Straight: You choose four horses to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in a precise order. • Superfecta Box: You select four or more horses. You win if your selections finish in the top four positions in any combination. A four-horse box contains 24 combinations.
| Superfecta Type | Horses Selected | Combinations | Cost multiplier |

| Straight Superfecta | 4 Horses (Specific Order) | 1 | 1x Base Stake |
| Superfecta Box (4) | 4 Horses (Any Order) | 24 | 24x Base Stake |
