As we inch closer to the halfway mark of the NFL season, we’re seeing some legendary plays on the field. But so far, nothing has really impressed sports betting fans so much as to go crazy. This year’s NFL players have a lot to live up to, at least as far as speed is concerned. Today, we’re taking a look back at the fastest football players of all time.
Bob Hays is first on our list. Back in the ’64 Olympics, he broke the then-current world record for the 100-meter, running it in 10.06 seconds. He’s also one of two NFL players in league history to go for 2 RD runs of 90 or more yards. Right behind him is Cliff Branch, who spent his entire career with the Oakland Raiders. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.17 seconds, and he set the Oakland franchise record for the longest TD reception at 99 yards. And who could forget Bo Jackson, also a Raider, and equally fast—he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.12 seconds. And our number four speed demon? Michael Bennett. He flew downfield, running the 40-yard in 4.13 second. We’ll be watching to see if anyone is as fast as these guys. And if they do, we’ll keep you updated.
